Ajax is a new friend… a tad cold shouldered

Ajax?!In the last month or so, I’ve become a bit of a fiend for JavaScript and Ajax (specifically MooTools) and since then I’ve made it a mission at home and at work to use Ajax and JavaScript as much as I can to improve usability on a web site and to just make things cool.

Here and there I may have slipped up and decided to go overboard with things (mainly my lack of thinking ahead and wondering what users may be limited by my using Ajax) but for the most part, I would definitely have to say that pushing Ajax on sites and pages I have been designing and working on. This is truly a positive I would say on my part only because it has vastly improved my thinking and logic skills allowing me to think in a non-standard way working with multiple dynamic pages and such.

The downside of this is that JavaScript really makes me angry sometimes. 82% of the time it’s because my own fault in some character misplacement or misusage of a function but in that 18% Ajax/JavaScript seems to have it in for me… Nevertheless, I push forward and find a way (as dirty as that may get) to accomplish my goal for what I’m working on and overall, I’ve learned quite a bit from all of the problems I’ve had.

I’m hoping that in the near future I can work some awesome usability into future personal and work projects to further my usages of Ajax and other fun languages. Perhaps some cool project will come your way soon from me? (Don’t get your hopes up ;) )
